The PDP had obtained the documents through their subpoenaed witness, Mike Enahoro Ebah, who noted that the documents bore the name "Bola Adekunle Tinubu" but were "purportedly" obtained by Tinubu.

Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN), INEC's counsel; The APC's Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) and Tinubu's Emmanuel Ukala (SAN) both objected to the documents' admissibility. The witness is scheduled for cross-examination by the defense attorneys as of the time this report is published.

A report published in 2022 by ICIR noted that President Tinubu has been the subject of numerous controversies ever since he became governor of Lagos in 1999.

There have been numerous stories about Tinubu in the years 2022 and 2023, including allegations of certificate forgery and corruption, bagman to drug traffickers, and an investigation into a money-laundering ring.

Legit.ng also said that Atiku's witness Abiye Sekibo said that APC and President Tinubu agents "truncated the uploading of election results to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) server in Rivers State."

On Monday, June 5, Seriko informed the Presidential Election Petition Court sitting in Abuja that Tinubu and APC "agents" prevented INEC officials from uploading collated results from polling units using the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) machines during the state's presidential election on February 25.
