Major General A.B. Ibrahim has been appointed Chief of Policy and Plans by Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the COAS.
In addition, Lagbaja has approved the appointment of New General Officers Commanding (GOCs) for a number of Nigerian army divisions and the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) commandant. Major General I. Ali is in charge of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Chibuisi is in charge of the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, and Major General Alabi is in charge of the 1 Division Nigerian Army Kaduna. Major General E.A. Abubakar is in charge of the 3 Division Nigerian Army, Jos. Major General Mala is in charge of the 7 Division.

According to reports, the appointment was required as a result of the void left by the retirement of some officers following the June 19 appointment of new service chiefs by the current Bola Tinubu.
The COAS is all set to go to work with the appointments.
