The Lagos-Ibadan expressway project is put on hold by the Federal Government (Details)

It stated that construction work would resume on Monday.

An assertion on Monday by Government Regulator of Works Lagos, Engr.(Mrs) O. I. Kesha on Monday, peruses:

"Construction on this ever-busy and critically important highway will be suspended from Tuesday, June 27 to Sunday, July 2, 2023, on the advice of the traffic management team deployed to manage traffic-related issues on the project. This is in response to the recent heavy traffic flow that has been observed on the Lagos Shagamu route over the past few days, inclement weather, the approaching Eid Kabir, and other factors.

“This is to allow travellers easy passage during the Eid  holiday & minimise the discomfort during this very important period.

“Travelers are advised to cooperate with Traffic Management Team deployed on the highway to manage traffic.”
