President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and VP Kashim Shettima have introduced proof to help their case that Peter Obi is certainly not an enlisted individual from the Labour Party (LP).

Tinubu and Shettima on Wednesday presented a duplicate of the Labbour Party membership register for Anambra State as proof to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).

President Tinubu and Shetimma opened their defense in the petition documented by Obi and the Labour Party challenging their announcement as champs of the February 25 presidential election.

They said that Obi who allegedly was not a party part during the last presidential survey was ineligible to challenge the election under the LP.

During the defense procedures at the Tribunal sitting at a court in Abuja, their lawful delegate, Boss Wole Olanipekun (SAN), introduced the membership register alongside a letter from the Labour Party, dated April 25, 2022, which was addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as supporting reports.

Tinubu and Shettima asserted that Obi purportedly left the Peoples Democratic Faction (PDP) on May 26, 2022 just to join the Labour Party on May 27, 2022.

As per them, the LP held its Presidential Primary election on May 30, 2022 where Obi arose as the candidate for the overall election.

The advice for Tinubu and Shettima contended that as indicated by Section 77(3) of the Electoral Act, they were committed to present their far reaching register of members to INEC 30 days before their presidential primary.

This infers that the register ought to have been submitted to INEC at the latest April 30, 2022.

They guarantee that as of April 30, 2022, Obi was as yet an individual from the PDP, and his name was excluded from the register of members presented by the LP to INEC.
