The Lagos State Parks and Garages (LASPG) held a cross-section meeting on the 16th August 2023 with the Federal Road Safety Commission ( FRSC) on the need to continue on the standard the organization has attained.
He stated that "without drivers on the road, there can't be FRSC", as the body of agency is incoperated to make the roads and highways safe for motorist as well as other road users.
The Commander laid emphasis that the corps are projecting and campaigning for "Vision Zero Accident " on our highways and the effective cooperation with the union would maximize the visualised goal.
At the meeting held at the state council of LASPG, some members of the FRSC enlightened the members of the union on the possible causes of majority road accidents, which he also mentioned that " about 80% accidents are caused by man made problems which can be avoided", and he also proffered solutions which should always be considered to avoid the afore mentioned. Some of the problems could be narrowed down to overloading, one way driving, wrong navigation, alcohol, highway traders/hawkers, and indecent parking of vehicles to mention a few.
He also implores the branch chairman to work earnestly in their respective branches so most of these causes can be effectively tackled.
