The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has granted Samuel Ortom's request for his release as the former governor of Benue State.
After Ortom handed over a debt profile of N187.7 billion to the Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia administration, he was questioned about how much money Benue spent while he was governor.
The former governor was seen leaving the EFCC office at 7:55 p.m. in a sports utility vehicle, or SUV, with some friends and associates who had waited patiently for him at a nearby hotel. He had spent the entire day at the Commission.
