Children must not be allowed to change gender in schools without telling their parents - UK prime minister, Rishi Sunak (Details)

Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, has stated that students must inform their parents before changing their gender in schools.

Teachers were warned by the Prime Minister that allowing boys to identify as girls was "not a neutral act" and could have a "significant impact" on children.

After deliberation on guidance for head teachers on how to handle transgender rights, he also stated that school staff must notify parents if their children wish to be referred to by other pronouns.

Schools are prohibited from allowing students to "socially transition" by changing their names, pronouns, or uniform if their parents do not consent. It was learned that the guidance will finally be published this week.

According to The Sun, children who question their gender will even be prohibited from participating in competitive sports.

Schools will be compelled to let guardians know if understudies are scrutinizing their orientation under new Government direction to be distributed for the current week, as per a report.

Numerous schools are currently deciding for themselves whether to provide gender-neutral restrooms or changing rooms.

Ministers have been criticized by Labour for delaying the guidance's release, claiming that schools, parents, and students are "sick and tired" of reading contradictory rumors about it in the media.

It was promised earlier this month by education minister Nick Gibb that it was being drafted and would be published soon.

The Sun was informed by a government source:
'Parents have got to be kept in the know about their child while they are at school and be consulted when sensitive matters arise.

'If their child expresses a desire to transition, for example, it's vitally important that parents are made aware and have a say.

'It is in everyone's best interest to ensure this happens, so that the child is looked after, teachers are clear in how they must handle the situation and parents know so that they can handle it appropriately and sensitively.

'The guidance will be crystal clear on all fronts.'
