Cristiano Ronaldo awarded a certificate from Guinness World Records for becoming the first male player to make 200 international appearances

Cristiano Ronaldo, a world-renowned footballer, became the first male player to make 200 international appearances, making history.

Guinness World Records presented the 38-year-old Ronaldo with an award prior to Portugal's Euro 2024 qualifier against Iceland on Tuesday, June 20.

In addition, he marked the occasion by scoring the game-winning goal in the 89th minute of Portugal's 1-0 victory over Iceland in European Championship qualifying.

With 123 goals, he also holds the all-time scoring record for Portugal.

With Portugal, Ronaldo won the 2016 European Championship, and in 2019, he also won the Nations League.

On top of things against Iceland, Ronaldo, as revealed by ESPN, said: ' The love I have for my nation is demonstrated by my 200 games played.

Ronaldo became the first male player to score in five World Cups last year at the tournament in Qatar. Additionally, with ten, he holds the record for the most international hat tricks.
