David Akinremi, the Commander of the Ogun State Security Network, also known as the Amotekun Corps, has passed away.
Reports that Akinremi capitulated to a delayed disease on Monday night.
According to sources, Akinremi had been suffering from an unidentified illness for some time before finally passing away.
In 2021, when the corps was officially launched in Ogun State, Akinremi, a retired Commissioner of Police, was instrumental in establishing Amotekun.
On Tuesday, Akinremi's passing was confirmed by Soji Ganzallo, Commander of the State-owned So-Safe Corps, a sister security agency to Amotekun.
Ganzallo expressed profound grief and described Akinremi's passing as an unexpected and painful blow to the community as a whole.
