The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the nation's leading anti-corruption agency, is said to have invited eight former ministers who worked for former President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to sources, each of the eight former ministers was invited to be questioned regarding allegations of corruption.

Sources say that the invitation letters asked the former top government officials to come and explain how they spent funds allocated to their ministries on specific projects when they were in charge.

According to Daily Trust, the letter was sent to the former ministers prior to Abdulrasheed Bawa's suspension as chairman of the commission. The investigation had begun by the anti-graft agency.

A source said that in addition to Pauline Tallen, the former minister of women's affairs, who was invited last week due to the alleged N2 billion fraud and "part of the money allegedly diverted from the African First Lady Peace Mission Project," seven others have also been invited.

It should be recalled that the commission arrested and detained Sale Mamman, a former minister of power under former President Buhari, last month in connection with an alleged N22 billion power project fraud.

In addition, it was discovered that the immediate past minister of police affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, has been summoned in connection with the management of the Police Trust Fund.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that Dingyadi would respond to claims that he purchased refurbished vehicles for the Nigeria Police as if they were brand-new.

"Well, I haven't seen the letter, so I don't know about it. Perhaps they sent it to the workplace, I will ask from the workplace", the pastor of police undertakings, Dingyadi, said in a telephone discussion with the previously mentioned stage.

The anti-graft agency also invited Hadi Sirika, a former Minister of Aviation, and Abubakar Malami, a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation.
