(Photos): President Bola Tinubu inaugurates National Economic Council

The National Economic Council (NEC) was formally established on Thursday, June 15 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

At the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the Council, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, was formally established. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, was there; Senator George Akume, the 36 Federation Governors, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF)

In light of the enormous challenges facing the nation, the president urged governors to work together and utilize local government to rapidly develop infrastructure.


He said; 

“You and I asked for it. We campaigned for it. We even danced for it. So, we have no reason to complain. Members of this country are behind us. They want reforms and they want it quickly. You here are stakeholders…. Collaboration is not a crime. Please, let us do so.”
