To attend the annual Health Week held in Calabar by the Nigeria Medical Students Association (NIMSA), medical students from universities across the country traveled there.
The students were said to have taken a boat ride to the Marina Resort in an effort to see more of the city. Sadly, the cruise ended when the boat capsized. Three students are currently missing despite the rescue of eleven students.
In the mean time, the state lead representative, Bassey Otu, has requested an examination concerning the voyage boat setback including 14 clinical understudies at the famous Marina Resort in Calabar, the state capital.
The governor expressed regret that three of the medical students who were in Calabar for the Nigeria Medical Students Games had not been found in a statement that was issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Ogbeche.
The governor gave the security and rescue agencies, as well as the villagers who were involved in the operations, the responsibility of finding the students who had gone missing and bringing them back home to their families.
