The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has planned a nationwide strike for Wednesday, August 2, 2023, the air is loaded up with discernible strain.
A significant response to the Government's fiscal policies is the labor union's mobilization strategy, which emphasizes mass participation.
On the day of the strike, the NLC is urging Nigerians to join them at the Unity Fountain in Abuja at 7 a.m. in an effort to gain support. The association focused on the significance of government intervention in business sectors for the security of residents, in accordance with worldwide practices.
Additionally, rather than subjecting ordinary citizens to undue hardship, the NLC is urging an immediate focus on combating the corruption that is connected to subsidies.
The NLC is making the urgent need for domestic refineries to be revived a major focus of its protest against the removal of subsidies. It is essential for their key requests, as the association accepts that a working nearby processing plant framework is fundamental for sufficient homegrown fuel utilization and lessening reliance on imported fuel.

The National Labour Congress (NLC) voiced concern regarding the total exposure of the national currency to market forces in a critique of the most recent monetary policies implemented by the Bola Tinubu-led administration. It brought up that such a move isn't in accordance with the standards of a sensible government.
Prior to a meeting with the Federal Government, the NLC lamented the administration's lack of compassion and accused it of manipulating Nigerians' lives. The union's demands for the release of Academic Staff Union of Universities' withheld salaries and a reversal of all policies deemed "anti-poor" add to the problem.
